Artificial intelligence is often put to productive use within organisations more quickly than legal, contractual and organisational safeguards can be put in place. This training course demonstrates how specific AI use cases can be structured, assessed on a risk-based basis, approved and monitored from the initial idea through to live operation – with a focus on Swiss law and relevant EU considerations.

Practical half-day training for companies in the ICT and reseller sectors

Artificial intelligence is often put to productive use within companies more quickly than legal, contractual and organisational safeguards can be put in place. This training course demonstrates how specific AI use cases can be structured, assessed on a risk-based basis, approved and monitored from the initial concept through to ongoing operation – with a focus on Swiss law and relevant EU considerations.

Objectives and benefits

· Classify and prioritise legal requirements for typical AI deployment scenarios.

· Assess AI use cases using a pragmatic, risk-based approach.

· Integrate data protection, contracts, information security, copyright and AI Act considerations into procurement and implementation.

· Derive specific measures for authorisation, documentation, responsibilities and ongoing monitoring.

Contents / Agenda

· AI in business: from tool to business process – typical use cases and risk drivers.

· Legal framework: the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG), automated individual decision-making, data protection impact assessments, contractual and liability issues, copyright, and relevant references to the EU AI Act.

· 5-step implementation model: define use cases, classify risks, define roles, review documentation and contracts, establish monitoring.

· Procurement and supplier assessment: data flows, training with customer data, subcontractors, access from abroad, SLAs, exit strategies and data sovereignty.

· From pilot to live operation: approval, re-evaluation, human oversight and avoidance of shadow AI.

· Practical case studies and a short group exercise based on a typical reseller/customer project.

Target audience

Senior management and executives; project and product managers; sales/pre-sales/consulting; IT and security managers; data protection, legal and compliance. Particularly suitable for resellers and integrators who both use AI internally and sell, integrate or operate solutions for end customers.

Practical relevance

Participants will work with typical scenarios from ICT sales: their own use of copilots/LLMs; integration of an AI service at the customer’s site; handling of customer and personal data; and the transition from proof of concept to live operation. Participants may submit their own questions in advance.

Concept and format

A 4-hour face-to-face session including a short break, as case studies and discussion constitute a significant part of the course’s value. A hybrid format is technically possible, but should only be chosen if the venue has suitable technical facilities and clear facilitation, to ensure that online participants are fully included in discussions and exercises.
