We are very pleased to expand our joint expertise in information, communication and technology law with this strategic partnership since 1 June 2020!
Since its foundation in 1996 during the dot-com phase, HÄRTING has grown steadily and organically. With 12 partners, 28 lawyers and around 65 employees, HÄRTING is now one of the largest boutiques for IT, IP, data protection, transactions and litigation in Germany.
As of 1 June 2021, de la cruz beranek Rechtsanwälte AG with Nicole Beranek Zanon and her team of 6 will join HÄRTING and is HÄRTING Rechtsanwälte AG in Switzerland / Zug.
An interest in IT law and the enjoyment of a cigarette in the fresh air brought Nicole Beranek Zanon and Prof. Niko Härting together at a conference in Rome in autumn 2013. The same view of legal issues, a hands-on advisory approach and the same modern office culture have led to them advising many clients together. HÄRTING and de la cruz beranek Rechtsanwälte AG have been organising data protection days in Switzerland and Germany for years and recently also the IT Lawyers’ Day.
In recent years, the ongoing digitalisation of the economy and society has gained further momentum, which means that the topics and issues surrounding technology and law no longer relate solely to Swiss law, but have become more interconnected, global and complex.
With the joint appearance of HÄRTING and de la cruz beranek Rechtsanwälte AG under the HÄRTING brand, we are taking this into account and want to intensify our cooperation across geographical borders. By exchanging different perspectives, we not only aim to sharpen our focus on technological progress and all its effects, but also to provide even more precise advice in the respective markets.
For our clients who were previously advised by Nicole Beranek Zanon, nothing will change, except that with HÄRTING Switzerland they can now expect even more breadth and depth in legal advice, without losing the boutique character for which Nicole Beranek Zanon and HÄRTING are valued by their clients.
HÄRTING’s expertise and experience in the field of technology and law is regularly recognised in leading publications such as Who’s Who Legal (WWL), Kanzleimonitor and Focus.
The business magazine Brand Eins recently analysed more than 2600 expert opinions on which law firm provides the best advice on questions such as “who helps with untangling and protecting data”. HÄRTING is one of the commercial law firms that made it onto the best lists 2021.
“Niko Härting impresses sources who describe him as “terrific” with “a deep understanding of data”, demonstrated in his work with clients on a broad range of complex IT.” – WWL
HÄRTING has been advising the majority of its clients, which include start-ups as well as SMEs and listed companies throughout Germany, for many years. They value HÄRTING for its first-class advice from a single source, its high level of technological expertise and its in-depth industry knowledge.
HÄRTING’s advisory topics range from consumer protection, privacy issues, IT security, liability, competition and antitrust law to the handling of data, blockchain and artificial intelligence for structuring transactions and notarisation transactions.
HÄRTING Germany is based in Berlin, which means that, like us in Zug, our colleagues are close to start-ups and digital technological developments.
