Understandably, it is annoying for the complainant that he cannot exempt himself from the obligation to pay without giving up his computer or the broadband Internet connection at the same time.
A computer is an operational receiver within the meaning of Article 68 (1) of the Radio and Television Act and is subject to the radio licence fee (within the meaning of Article 57 (b) of the Radio and Television Ordinance (RTVV)), since the diversity of the program offering and the quality of reception is equivalent to a conventional radio. On the other hand, in the case of television reception, the taking out of a subscription or registration with a provider is also required, so that a receiving device falls under the obligation to pay fees (Article 57 (b) RTVV).
